Just the word “Virtuous” is intimidating and seems impossible to achieve. This book tells 15 true stories of six modern day virtuous women “in the making,” and nine biblical women who all had similar problems and vices like infidelity, drunkenness, arrogance, selfishness, attempted suicide, and so on. Each woman embodies attributes of the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. Helpful hints are sprinkled throughout the book and the author has included study questions and prayers to encourage women of all ages in their journey.

This is a wonderful book for small group or individual study for those looking to become more like the woman described in Proverbs 31:10-31. Open this book to begin a journey of discovery learning who these women are and how you can grow in your relationship with God and become a virtuous (not perfect) woman.

Readers Comments”

This book is absolutely amazing and is appropriate for women from teens to 90. The book is well written and easy to understand. You will find a part of yourself throughout the pages and have a better understanding of how to grow closer to God. What makes the book even more interesting is that the author shares so much of herself and her own life. I highly recommend this book.

— S. Wilcox, Bulverde, Tx.

Well-written profile of women we would never hear about it if it were not for this book. Through detailing the history, experience and wisdom of the profiled women, the author gives the reader some great lessons anyone can benefit from (even if we're not female).

I LOVED the book!  It made me take a good look at myself and my journey.  Some of the things that you talk about in your life happened to me.  I guess we all did that drug screen once in life.  I liked that you brought that all out and showed how you adapted to it. And when you started talking about Mary Magdalene OMG you hit the nail on the head!  I had to speak in church for Women's Day and it was on her and how we had so much in common, before we had an intimate relationship with the Lord. I see the characteristics of Wisdom in some of the older Saints of my church and Grandma Pearl is The Mother of my Church. Girl, they could be twins! LOL  I am passing the book on to my First Lady and ordering one for my Big Sister in Christ.  I want to Thank You first of all for writing this book it has helped me with my walk with Christ and how to handle some of my faults.  Most of all I like to Thank You for letting me be your friend and reading this book.  You are a Virtuous Woman and I am PROUD TO KNOW YOU!!
Your Friend And Sister In Christ

In the opening of this book Denise Cornelius sets the stage by offering as her credentials a first person account of her life . From here she reaches into the Bible and modern day to point to women of faith, who, like all women including herself, have lives filled with struggles. She is able to remove the burden of perfection and allow women to see their own virtues while leaving perfection as a gift from God himself reserved for the end of life. Well done!

— Dan Cole, author of “What Faith and Love Can Do”

“.....Denise has made this book come alive in sharing her own life journey and faith struggles in pursuing our Abba Father and has found the promise of virtue that is meant for each young woman and His unrelenting love and pursuit of us.”

“In spite of its subject, this book is one of hope and optimism for anyone confronting a life-altering experience”

Megan Mills, Ph.D., Director, Psychosocial Oncology Rush Cancer Institue, Chicago, IL

“How do we take a journey toward death with a loved one? As Dan speaks from personal experience, he includes theological reflection on his experience which can help a grieving person find a place within their faith for their grief.”

—Dr. Emma Justes, Professor of Pastoral Care and Pastoral Theology

Northern Baptist Theological Seminary, Lombard, IL

What Faith and Love Can Do combines the author’s previous book Take My Hand with new material about picking up the pieces of his life, facing being alone, new health problems, finding love and getting married again. This book invites the reader to journey with Dan Cole as he confronts his life’s greatest challenges—the death of his wife, Sandy, from cancer and his simultaneous cancer diagnosis and treatment. After all, what hope is there for people who hear the word “cancer” or are taking their final steps to the end of life due to some other dreadful condition? Is faith in God and love for one another enough to see you through?

The author says “Journeying through crisis has had a profound

effect on me. I discovered how to translate my faith into practice and I have seen my own faith develop and produce in me a maturity that I would not otherwise possess.”

The message to his readers is clear: faith in God, love for one

another, and surprisingly, a sense of humor are the secrets to overcoming grief and loss.

You have my respect and admiration.  How you managed to keep your faith while enduring your trials is amazing.  You story does show what an individual can withstand if they have a strong enough belief.”
